Tiny Mulder - and our JennyPop - might draw strange looks in public, as JennyPop - and the odd cohort - position him hither and thither; yet, he doesn't mind the judgment. She doesn't mind either. TM is out there and loving it! Drinking in the atmos of pubs and bars, here and abroad, surveying the pumpkin pie and pressies at Thanksgiving dinner and on Christmas mornings, TM will be relegated to a dank, FBI basement no longer. Today, and forever, Tiny Mulder is ... at large! Go forth and find the truth, my tiny friend.

The Lock of Love: Tiny Mulder in Copenhagen

It is unclear whether or not Tiny Scully would appreciate Tiny Mulder's grand gesture.

Caffè Florian: Intruder Alert

Little Miss JennyPop, as most people know,

Longed to revisit 18thC. Venice; she was always ready to go.

So to Caffè Florian, the oldest in the world - 1720 - she did flock.

For this Italian adventure, naturally, she packed her most Verdi-inspired frock.

On a rainy, Veneto night, into Florian they fled,

Sipping famed Florian brandy and espresso, JennyPop and her belov-ed.

Taking in a glistening, empty, St. Mark's Square,

The two shared an Enlightenment moment, looking quite the pair.

Poppin' Open a Brand New Year

The New Year cometh! What's on your docket? What dragons will you slay, what cats will you herd, what other animal analogies will you concoct? JennyPop is ready for a new year! New Savannah of Williamsburg (Book IV finished and soon-to-be-published!), more Euro travel - likely with Tiny Mulder in-tow - and, as always, San Diego Comic-Con! Plus, whatever else may cross JennyPop's path. Who knows? Like Lemony Snicket's Violet Baudelaire, JennyPop's tying her hair in a ponytail and getting back to work after The Holidays, no matter the task ... as long as it involves reading, writing and bonkers-fun!

Happy New Year, kittens! Be courageous, be productive, be nice!

"Well, hey. I didn't spend all those years playing Dungeons and Dragons and not learn a little something about courage."

Four Hours in Iceland: Notes on Exhaustion, Brain Drain and David Sedaris

8dg C. (outside, duh)

How many degrees Fahrenheit are 8 degrees Celsius?

What is the Icelandic currency, and how much is it worth? When "nachos" cost 650kr, what does this mean, to me?

Beer and Brennivin is what this pub, Loksins, offers. What is Brennivin? (In fact, a vile schnapps-like fuel that tastes like Scope. Blech!) My Internet connection is failing; ergo, I cannot research any of this

"Are they really Muppets? Like, actually Muppets?" her purple-sparkle lids lowered to half-mast and her berry-frost lips twisted up-left as she tilted her head and twirled a long, Orange Crush-coloured curl, hesitating, requiring verbal authentication before further engagement.

"As real as they get," a bemused puppeteer nodded with a genial, albeit tired

“She called herself Bat-Girl! Gosh, I wonder who she is?”

- Robin, Batman #139, April 1961

Swooshing through an open window, Bat-Girl crashed the DC Comics clique in 1961. Resembling 1930s Norwegian, Olympic ice-skater Sonia Henie, she was more Madame Alexander doll than superhero. The first Bat-Girl, a.k.a. Betty Kane, was little more than a pretty, teenage nuisance and, according to Robin, “an inexperienced girl bound to get hurt pursuing crooks”.

On her Fiftieth, Batgirl, and we, might reflect on her personal transformations. Along her journey, she has refashioned not only her hair colour, costumes and careers, but her secret identities. Batgirl's personalities number so many, a PhD candidate might deconstruct her mythology as a dissertation on “Dissociative Identity Disorder in Pop-Culture”. However deconstructed, Batgirl's only constant is her utility belt.

75 Years of Archie Comics: Betty & Veronica, American Girls

by

Jennifer Susannah Devore

To me, Betty and Veronica symbolize something that is so right about America, where two girls from completely different backgrounds can find each other and become the best of friends.

-Johnathan Goldwater, co-founder/publisher Archie Comics

Veronica Lodge has everything endless wealth can provide: a mansion, cars, travel and a trendsetter's wardrobe. She also possesses qualities generally unaffected by means: beauty, intelligence, self-confidence and a supportive family. One wonders, why is she at public school, rather than private? Mother and Father Lodge must raise a privileged child, without letting loose on the world an entitled adult.

Mr. Lodge thinks thatVeronica is exposed to a more diverse group of students and is hopefully developing some lasting friendships.

-Victor Gorelick, Archie Comics Co-President/Editor-in-Chief

Betty Cooper has everything endless sweetness can provide: loyal friends, a true heart, a clear conscience and altruistic intentions. She also possesses qualities generally unaffected by means: beauty, intelligence, self-confidence and a supportive family.
