Jiggy Jen's Random Playlist
Dork alert! Today's beachwalk was nearly skip-free on my mp3-player! Silly thing about which to be pleased, I know. Still, even though I love everything on my player I'm not always of the appropriate temperament to enjoy said selections. It's rare I don't hit skip over and over and over. Yet, huzzah-cubed! Today's random selection was almost perfect! The only thing I had to skip was a little Nirvana (Too much Nirvana makes me waaay tooo mellow for a powerwalk.) and some JLo (I need stilettos and cocktail rings to enjoy her properly.)
Besides the tuneage, the weather was amazing. Although, at 59 degrees it was still chilly enough I needed a sweater and my fave Hello Kitty fingerless mittens. Of course, I realize I'd best not complain, considering those amidst tornado-threatened Dixie Alley and all my old peeps up and down the East Coast this week. Brrrrr. I also found a plethora of beach glass, a wee collection I am amassing for a landlocked, seaside Canadian-transplant pal in the heart of Texas. Howdy, Miss Jannie!
Along our Golden Coast this day the brown pelicans ribboned up and over cresting breakers, the sea gulls nuzzled and napped in large, fluffy flocks along the sand and the sandpipers never did make up their collective Borg-mind ("We are piper") as to whether or not to let the water touch their toesies. There also appears to be a series of amphibious assault exercises just off the Oceanside Harbor: a Gigantor aircraft carrier surrounded by a bevy of zippy zodiacs. I hope it's Camp Pendleton exercises, at least!
