WILLIAMSBURG AUTHOR TO SIGN CHILDREN’S BOOKS AT Williamsburg Booksellers THROUGHOUT THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

 

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Williamsburg author Jennifer Susannah Devore will sign her latest book, “Savannah of Williamsburg: Ben Franklin, Freedom & Freedom of the Press, Virginia 1735” during the Thanksgiving weekend at Williamsburg Booksellers, 101 Visitor Center Dr. The book signings will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

“Savannah of Williamsburg: Ben Franklin, Freedom & Freedom of the Press, Virginia 1735” is the third book in the “Savannah Squirrel Series of Books.” A series of historical fiction and fantasy, “Savannah of Williamsburg” brings adventure and early American history together as it ties Williamsburg and its influence to all the colonies’ wildest events and people.

The third book in the series is another exciting adventure through history. The American colonies are thriving in 1735 and major issues are confronting the colonists. The evil of slavery is challenged by Miss Savannah Squirrel and her pals after her oldest and dearest friend, Anthony, a free black and successful Williamsburg merchant, is devastated by this horrible institution. The stakes also are high for Philadelphia’s young Ben Franklin as he secretly plots to influence the outcome of one of the most important trials in American history, taking place in New York: the John Peter Zenger Trial. Freedom of the press is at stake and the verdict will affect the colonies’ road to independence.

“Savannah of Williamsburg: Ben Franklin, Freedom & Freedom of the Press, Virginia 1735” costs $14.95 and is published by Kramerica International Media, LLC.

Devore resides in Williamsburg with her husband and their three pets. The author and her husband, a filmmaker, director and visual media specialist, moved to the East Coast from their native Orange County, Calif., specifically to explore the vast history the mid-Atlantic, and Williamsburg in particular.
