Cancellation of San Diego Comic-Con 2021
Well, we Comic-Con dorks hoped, but we knew the truth, deep-down in our little, dork hearts. SDCC 2021 is officially cancelled, according to Comic-Con International (CCI). WonderCon Anaheim is also cancelled, Comic-Con's smaller, April convention; so, the writing was on the wall when that was announced. Of course, as Disneyland is still disallowed to re-open, how much fun could Anheim be anyhoo?
As a consolation prize for both conventions, just like last year, there will be three-day, at-home "events". If you're true Comic-Con folk, it's not a lot different from daily activities. (Reacquaint yourself with JennyPop's SDCC2020@Home.)
As far as badges and Earth monies go, you have the same options as last year: transfer your badge to next year's con or request a full refund. There is an additional option this time, though: apply it toward a planned convention in November.

Based on so many factors, viral, political and otherwise, I'm not holding my breath for November 2021, or WCA or SDCC 2022, but will retain my general optimism, transfer my badge and keep a sharp eye on updates at Comic-Con.org.
From CCI's official statement:
... it appears that July will still be too early to safely hold an in-person event of the magnitude of Comic-Con. For this reason, we have made the challenging decision to postpone Comic-Con 2021 as an in-person gathering until our 2022 dates, and once again hold this year's celebration as the free online Comic-Con@Home.
Unfortunately, the challenges of this past year and the multiple postponements of our two largest events have left us with limited financial resources, so this year the online experience will be reduced to a three-day event, spanning July 23-25, 2021.
... we believe that launching a smaller in-person event at a later time may be a safe alternative. For this reason, we are happy to announce that San Diego Comic Convention is planning to present a three-day in-person convention in San Diego in November. At this time, we are still working on specific details as to attendance capacity, badge cost, and related information, and those details will be forthcoming.
