"Passing out and cursing, on St. Patrick's Day? Is nothing sacred anymore?"
Look at him, or her. I'll wait ... See? Your dog wants you to stay home and watch TV for St. Patrick's Day. Be honest, you've done it all and it's soooo passé. You've had your share of wicked-bonkers St. Patrick's celebrations: the local, grotty, "real" Irish pub; the pub crawls hitting every bar in town, Irish or not; and the big, private parties with way too many Sportos. You've even flown to Dublin, to celebrate the Patron Saint on his home turf, which, funny enough, in Ireland, is relatively chill ... but still amazing! So, isn't it time for a chill year at home? You can still have a couple drinkies witth your S.O. and wear summat cute and green, or William-orange, or The Order of St. Patrick-blue. So, maybe this year, the year of COVID-19, give your immune system a break, your liver a break (I love you, Liver.) and make your dog happy.
Besides the fact that St. Patrick's Day is on a Tuesday, which always harshes a holiday buzz, Coronoavirus (a.k.a. COVID-19) is giving a lot of folks "paws" (See what I did there?), about their usual, March 17th shenanigans. Not to mention, the Friday before St. Patrick's Day ... is Friday the 13th. All signs point to ... cloistering at home.
We're staying here, right, Mom?! We're just going to watch TV all night? Jublii!!!!!
